More proof that decorating is not my strong suit. But building cakes like this is fun even if they’re not as slick as the ones in the books.

How fun!! That looks great. Congratulations on a fantastic job
And Happy Birthday, Fuzz!
Wow what a cute cake! I love the idea of coloring the cones. I think it looks wonderful! How did the cake itself come out – any notable difference by freezing it while still warm?
Gosh, I was going to say that I thought you did a great job decorating! What recipe did you use for the frosting? What did Fuzz think?
Oh, I absolutely love it! You did a fine job.
that is such a handsome cake!(just teasing you.)seriously, you did a fantastic job. I love the vibrant colors. sometimes in order to get bright colors like that, the tase of the frosting suffers. I would love to know what frosting recipe you used and if the coloring affected the taste.
That looks as if it must have taken you hours. Looks incredible. Good thing you took a photo before it is devoured.
Hope Fuzz had a great birthday.
It looks wonderful! What do you mean, decorating isn’t your thing??! Hapy Birthdya to your little one….
Todd, that’s a good point. I was especially suprised she liked it given the cardamom/lemon flavors.
The amazing part about this cake is that Fuzz(tm) even ate some of the “yucky” part. In Fuzz’s world, any part of the cake that isn’t icing is “the yucky part”. So, you know the cake was good.
Well color me impressed!
Ms. Chevious, You have quite the wit.
Anna, that cake looks great!
Zinnur, we liked the crayon cake because Emma loves to color. I’m afraid she likes coloring even more than helping out in the kitchen! Crazy child. The King Arthur Elegant White Cake is a good scratch base, but you could save yourself time by just using a cake mix.
i love it. Now i know what cake to make for my 2 year-old on her next birthday.
A little sloppy,
but still looks delecious.
Wish i had your baking skills.
