One nice thing about the book “Maida Heatter’s Cookies” is that every recipe has a short anecdote. Take for instance, the recipe I made this morning, Chocolate Whoppers. It’s nice to have a [...]

Last night I became the proud owner of Martha Stewart’s Baking Handbook. It may be my imagination, but Martha’s recipes seem to have become more creative over the past year. This book is a gem, and I’m sorry Camilla’s book had to compete with it this morning. Instead of making a brownie mix recipe, I [...]

The original biscotti recipe was blueberry. Here’s my version of Southern Living’s – a strawberry chocolate biscotti. I wasn’t sure it [...]

It’s an old one from Gourmet Magazine and can be found on both Epicurious and in the big, yellow Gourmet Magazine Cookbook — one of my favorites, even though it has no pictures. This is a very good and reliable biscotti recipe which has enough [...]
