Choco-Peanut Butter Cups

by Anna on March 31, 2006 · 14 comments

Yesterday’s cookie was created by Ronna Farley, who I met at the Bake-Off. We sat together on the bus ride to Downtown Disney, where Ronna told me about her job working in the grocery business. When she’s not at the store, she loves cooking and doing creative things with food. This recipe is one of [...]

Peanut Butter Crunch Brownies

by Anna on March 28, 2006 · 23 comments

One of the best things about being on the Bake-Off Contest floor was walking around and sampling the other contestants’ recipes. Last year I was too nervous to do so and opted to go back to the hotel room and hide under the covers. But this year, I walked around and tasted as many things [...]

Low Fat Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

by Anna on March 13, 2006 · 5 comments

I haven’t actually logged it, but there seems to be a correlation in how bad a mood I’m in to how much fat is in the cookie recipe I choose — the worse mood, the less fat in the recipe. Today’s cookie recipe contains 2 tablespoons of butter, so you’d best avoid me. The cookies [...]

In keeping in the competitive mode, I decided to bake something out of a book Todd gave me called “Blue Ribbon Winners – America’s Best State Fair Recipes” by Catherine Hanley. Not only is it a nice collection of recipes, but it is a fun book to read. Each recipe has an interesting …

Cherry Chewbilees

by Anna on March 3, 2006 · 4 comments

It’s Friday, so I figured I’d make a cookie with a really goofy name. Hello “Cherry Chewbilees” — so silly you want to say it again and again. Whoever came up with this name must have had a fun time watching people groan, roll their eyes or fake a laugh. The …

Butterfinger Mounds

by Anna on March 2, 2006 · 9 comments

I’m calling these “Butterfinger Mounds” because the flavor reminds me of Butterfinger bars. Plus, I read somewhere (maybe the wrapper?) that Butterfingers are made with ground up Corn Flakes, so it makes sense. Butterfinger Mounds 2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoon granulated sugar 1/4 cup corn syrup 1/2 cup butterscotch chips 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter [...]
