Ginger Snaps

Ginger Snaps (an old Joy of Cooking recipe)

Cream:
3/4 C. butter
with
2 C. sugar

Stir in:
2 well-beaten eggs
1/2 C. molasses
2 tsp. vinegar

Sift and add:
3-3/4 C. flour
1-1/2 tsp. soda
2-3 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves

Preheat oven to 350. Mix ingredients until well blended. Form dough into 3/4-inch balls. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for about 12 minutes.

Makes about 10 dozen 2 inch cookies.
