Okay, so I just posted Giada’s recipe. Now here’s mine.
These are similar to Giada’s, but I used walnuts, two kinds of sugar, vanilla extract (no almond) oats and buttermilk. I also used baking soda instead of baking powder so the cookies would spread a bit and brown a little more. The walnut people are looking for healthier cookies, so I also cut the butter a tad too.
Let me know if you try these. Here’s a picture of a batch I baked this evening while making dinner.

And here’s a picture of my cookies sitting next to Giada’s. Hers are more dessert-like, while I think mine are more breakfast-y. Both are good, but in a different way.

P.S. If you read the litle intro on my walnut recipe, try not to be distracted by all the typos. Oy Vay.
P.P.S. Then again, you are probably use to typos if you read CM. Sheesh. I need to take some sort of proof-reading class.

Believe it or not, I made up the walnut cookie recipe two years ago! I refined it yesterday for the walnut contest, but it’s one I’ve had. I think seeing Giada’s cookie reminded me to drag it out. So the cookies are inspired by Giada…yet not a variation on hers.
