Chef Jay’s Protein Cookies

by on July 13, 2007 · 2 comments

I didn’t bake anything today, so rather than post a recipe, I’m going to plug a protein cookie I discovered this week at General Nutrition Center (GNC). I don’t know Chef Jay personally or have any affiliation with this company, but these cookies are worth mentioning because each cookie has 11 grams of protein and only 150 calories, which is good thing if you are looking for a quick meal replacement or a meal-on-the-go. I tried the chocolate chip and the oatmeal raisin. The chocolate chip cookie reminded me of a Grandma’s cookie and the oatmeal cookie was soft and chewy and didn’t have a a weird health food taste. Honestly, I was expecting I’d try one of these cookies and throw the rest away. Now it appears I’ll be buying more!

They’re not terribly expensive. One pack of two costs $2.50. it seems like a lot of a cookie, but you are paying for 22 grams of protein, which rivals many frozen entrees.

How much fat and fiber in each cookie?

I believe it was 6 grams of fat and less than 1 gram of fiber.
