Crockpot Cherry Dump Cake Notes

by on September 25, 2007 · 3 comments

Last night’s crockpot dessert was a success. I turned on the crockpot before heading out to a PTA meeting and came home to a house that smelled like pie. Would I make it again? If the circumstances were right, yes. It was a good use of cake mix. Next time I’ll make it from scratch, but this will serve as an alternative. And to those who asked if it would work with other pie fillings such as peach, the answer is yes.

Again, here’s the link. I’ve added a picture and a few alterations. On the advice of one commenter, Christy, I went ahead and left in the nuts. Glad I did, because they really added to the dessert.

I am happy it worked out with leaving in the nuts. This dessert has always been a hit with our family and friends. Glad you were able to make and enjoy it! I will have to try the crockpot version :)

Good Evening, Miss Paula.

I hope your crockpot dish is a success.

I had so much fun making a crockpot (slow cooker) dessert yesterday, that I’m making another one this evening. Will report tomorrow.

Christy, yes — thanks for advice. As someone who loves nuts, I would have been a little disappointed had I NOT added them.
