Valentine’s Day is coming up which means there’s a legitimate reason to bake like crazy. If only I had fewer “real life” things to do.
I did save something from yesterday, though. It was posted in a newsgroup called “Alt.Cookies.Yum-Yum-Yum”. However, there was a typo and I had to seek out the original source. Turned out it was from Good Housekeeping, who say they tested it 3 times.
GH liked this recipe and someone else liked it enough to post it on a newsgroup. I personally thought it was too sweet, but don’t take my word for it. Maybe I did something wrong or maybe I wasn’t hungry enough when I tried one of these. Here’s the photo. I forgot to put a border on it.

That does sound like a whole lot of sugar! And eggs! I may try making it a little less sweet.
That fudgy icing looks FAAAAAANTASTIC!
Kathy, the brownie part wasn’t too sweet. I think it was just the combination as a whole — brownies plus pralines = overkill. You should try the GH version before you try reducing the sugar.
Jessica, the icing looked even better a few hours before I took this picture. After sitting for a while, it started to crack.
Anna, these look devine! The topping in particular looks scrumptious.
