Not long ago, I got an email from a reader asking if I knew of any commercial kitchen space in Austin. Her dream was to start a mail order cookie business and she was in the planning stages. Not being a professional and having zero experience in that arena, I wasn’t much help to Alexandra, but I was excited for her and wished her well.
Flash forward to a few weeks ago, “Alexandra’s Cookie Dreams” got a write-up in the Austin Statesman. Impressive! But not as impressive as the next review, which came from the insatiable Gael Greene. I was very happy for Alexandra. Not to mention happy for Gael Greene who got free cookies in the mail. But I can’t complain because Alexandra sent some to me too. I might not be in the same league as Gael Greene, but I do know good cookies!
Alexandra will have her e-store up and running, but if you’d like to get more information or browse through Alexandra’s flavor collection, you can do it on her website, which includes all the information you need and Alexandra’s story. No doubt, her background as a school teacher is a big reason why Alexandra’s Cookie Dreams will donate a portion of their profits to New York and Austin public schools. As the mother of a public school kid, I have to say “Thanks, Alexandra!” and “Good luck with your cookie dreams!”.
