I’ve seen Sprite cake, but probably doesn’t have as distinct flavor as Root Beer would.
I wonder if you could use Root Beer Extract instead of Root Beer soda? For some reason I bought some extract thinking I would make root beer, how strange of me!
I’ve never made that one but I made one from Taste of Home (or one of their publications) once and it was pretty good.
You should try bakerella’s Halloween cupcake pops. I bet Fuzz would have a blast making them with you!

I’ve made the Sprite one before, too. Bet this one is great–I love root beer!
I haven’t made this recipe, but I did try the root beer cake from the “Baked” cookbook. The directions said to cool in the pan completely…..I am rather compulsive about following directions exactly the first time I make something so I did as I was directed: Big Mistake. The cake stuck in the pan and fell to pieces as I was trying to get it out. I froze the cake crumbs and used some of them to coat the outside of another cake I made on a different occasion, to get the effect of a “blackout” type cake. Very moist and chocolatey. I could not detect the rootbeer flavor @ all! I will definitely try the cake again, hopefully with a better outcome.
