Oh no. I’m becoming obsessed with sweet potato pie. Argh.
Here’s one that caught my eye this morning. It’s spiked with whiskey. I wonder if the filling would work in bars?

My great aunt (97) made one like this for Thanksgiving. YUMMY
Wow! That should be served as an app, so that no one will worry about awkward family gatherings
That does look like a tasty sweet potato pie. For some reason when I think of sweet potato pie, I think of it as a dessert with Southern origins. I don’t know if that’s valid or not. When I think of Southern cooks I think of Paula Deen. Can’t you just hear her saying Sweet Potato Pie? I wonder if Paula Deen has a recipe that would appeal to you?
Shirley Corriher comes to mind too.
I’m supposed to be working, but instead I’m looking at sweet potato pie recipes! Bad Sue!
At some point in the past I ran across a copy of Ken Haedrich’s book “Pie” on clearance so I bought it. He has two recipes for Sweet Potato Pie in the book. One of them he calls Fancy Sweet Potato Pie and in that version he calls for the grated zest of one orange, and hazelnut or almond liquer. As someone with an entire bottle of Frangelico and very few uses for it I’m almost tempted to make this, but what I didn’t make for Thanksgiving was Pecan Pie, and that’s what I’m really hungry for.
If you have a favorite way to consume Frangelico I’d love to hear about it!
Yup, that’s a beautiful one with a great tutorial too. It’s perfect for people like me who are entirely visual.
