Happy Mardi Gras!

This holiday snuck up on me. I knew it was around the corner, but didn’t realize it was today. Then again, it also took me a while to figure out that today was Tuesday.

I might make some seafood-free jambalaya for dinner.

Meanwhile, for those of you looking for a really easy King Cake to make with kids, here’s a recipe I posted a while back.

    It occurred to me yesterday that it would be appropriate for you to use the “no-knead bread” recipe to do King Cake. The steamykitchen.com blog has a Sticky Pecan Caramel Cinnamon Roll recipe adapted from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, so it’s the right stuff. And she has her four-year-old son making them. ;-)
