Blackberry Peach Coffee Cake

I was trapped in the waiting room at my doctor’s office yesterday, but it wasn’t so bad because there was a stack of Southern Living magazines. The current issue has a lot of good sounding recipes, but the one that caught my eye was Blackberry-Peach Coffee Cake. It’s so colorful! I’m throwing it out here for you all, but I won’t be able to make it until I have another house guest. We’re still working on the scones.

Sorry you had to hang out at the doctor’s office but at least they had some good magazines to page through!

A must read for Anguilla is ‘A Trip to the Beach’ by Melinda and Robert Blanchard. It is a delightful and inspiring story of the couple’s year long experience of living on the island and opening a unique and successful restaurant. I read it years ago and have been wanting to visit the island ever since.

I made the Southern Living peach-blackberry cake a few weeks back with some fruit from the Austin Farmer’s Market and it was good, but not as good as I had hoped it would be. It’s similar, but not nearly as good as, Lee Bailey’s Blueberry Buckle, which is a favorite of our family’s. (link: I may try to substitute blackberries and/or peaches in that recipe and see if I like it better.

Hi, u have a beautiful site in here….I too made this cake a while ago, going to post on my blog next…..Loved it , but i have made few variations to the batter and amount. It was a hit hit hit with all my friends. Check out next post in my blog:)
