Bake Up Some Love Valentine’s Day Giveaway

by Anna on February 1, 2011 · 97 comments

UPDATE: Congratulation to Michelle at Dreaming of White Chocolate. Her number was drawn for the giveaway.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and Nestle Toll House wants to help you “bake up some love” with their new Valentine Friends cookies.

You may have spotted these at the grocery store already. The sugar cookie dough features full-color characters like monkeys, bumble bees, bunnies, dogs and teddy bears on heart-shaped cookies with cute Valentine sayings like “U Rock,” “Bee Mine,” “Some Bunny Loves You,” “You Quack Me Up” and “Happy Valentine’s Day”.

Valentine's Friends

Toll House has given me a cookie tin, some stickers, and some free coupons for Valentine’s cookies to pass on to one reader. Because the cookies are seasonal, this is going to be a quick turn-around giveaway. Deadline is 11:00 CST AM Wednesday Feb. 2 (tomorrow!), which in a way is good because it gives you better odds. Good luck!

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment saying how you plan on celebrating Valentine’s Day.   I will pick one comment at random.

If you’re planning on “baking up some love” and haven’t figured out what, check out the Toll House Valentine’s Day Baking Collection.

And don’t forget to grab a Nestle Toll House Valentine Friend Cookies coupon AND some coloring pages (everyone likes to color, right?).

Plan on going on a date with just my hubby! (I’m in Austin too and would love to know your fav. Austin eatery, by the way. Right now I am loving Hyde Park Bar and Grill)

I LOVE Valentines Day at our home. We set out the nice china for dinner and have a special dinner. We top the night off with a beautiful homemade Red Velvet Cake! YUM!

irysheyes February 1, 2011 at 4:16 pm

We are going to a Mexican restaurant and be serenaded by some strolling guitarists and singers! How romantic!

suzanne February 1, 2011 at 5:05 pm

Since it is on a Monday, I think we will opt for a nice dinner at home. Every year I make a cheesecake for my husband- it is his absolute favorite dessert.

Shannon February 1, 2011 at 5:29 pm

Hubby may have to work Monday night (he’s a chef). In that case, we’ll celebrate Sunday: he makes dinner and I make dessert :)

C L February 1, 2011 at 5:36 pm

I will be fixing up a couple of 6-qt CrockPots full of chili and a mess of cornbread and a batch of jumbo cookies and send it all to work with my sweetheart husband. And for my husband I’ll be fixing his favorite supper of meatloaf and baked potatoes and salad. :)

Anonymous February 1, 2011 at 5:54 pm

I’m not sure how I’ll be celebrating, but I know I’ll be baking quite a bit! :)

Becky Z February 1, 2011 at 5:56 pm

I’ll be eating a BIG chocolate cake with all of my roommates :)

This is our first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife… and I’m sincerely hoping my husband digs his romantic genes from the depths of his over-filled brain and plans something special… hint hint! LOL

Jan February 1, 2011 at 6:31 pm

My only plan is working that day; where I feel the love…NOT!

Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year, which is my husband’s only day off each week, so I’m excited! I’m hoping to spend the day with him just relaxing at home and watching movies.

Suzy February 1, 2011 at 8:46 pm

We’ll have a nice homemade dinner and give a little gift to our daughter. Valentine’s day is low key around here, because our anniversary is a week after!

Susie D. February 1, 2011 at 8:52 pm

I think I will snuggle up with my Valentine, if he doesn’t have to work too late that night. Other than that, I have some gifts for my kids that I’m looking forward to giving them.

Nancy February 1, 2011 at 9:16 pm

No specific plans yet but the day will be involving chocolate of some sort!

Emily February 1, 2011 at 9:29 pm

Working. But I’m sure that I’ll also put together something cute for my daughter. Presents are always fun!

Karin February 1, 2011 at 10:16 pm

Hope to go out for lunch–but we’ll see! Never know what the weather will be like then!

Lynne February 1, 2011 at 10:35 pm

Probably bake some cookies, maybe some red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for dessert!

ChristineO February 1, 2011 at 11:04 pm

Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year, and my sweetheart has been called to jury duty that week. So, we might have to celebrate another day–maybe by going to a comedy club to take in some much needed fun. Too much work, work, work and no play!

Lindsay February 1, 2011 at 11:18 pm

My husband and kids and I are planning on going to Oliver Garden for dinner! I plan on making some kind of dessert too, just not sure what for sure yet.

cindy February 1, 2011 at 11:21 pm

I’m planning on talking to my husband who unfortunately will be gone on a trip.

Over in new zealand its not such a big deal but i am a kindergarten teacher and we plan on celebrating it by having a dress up day and doing lots of random acts of kindness. :) sharing the love!

Emlod10 February 2, 2011 at 3:10 am

Going out to dinner with a bunch of girlfriends!

Jen February 2, 2011 at 4:50 am

my husband & I are often go-go-go on the weekends, so I think the best Valentine’s Day weekend plans would be to stay in, watch movies, get some take out and bake some goodies. I think we will plan to go out for a nice dinner the following weekend (when hopefully the restaurants are a little less busy!)

CaSaundra February 2, 2011 at 7:50 am

All my single girlfriends and I are going out for pizza and then to a movie! :-)

Yosha February 2, 2011 at 7:53 am

VDay is hard when you are single! A bit harder this year since one of my friends in a long term relationship just broke up, in a bad break up to boot! So I have lots of baking planned leading up to the day and keeping her active on the actual day! I’ve never bought store cookie dough but these are totally tempting me!

Tory February 2, 2011 at 8:32 am

My daughter and I will have a baking day before and well spend the valentines day night at home as a family and likely exchange cards!

Mary Lynn M. February 2, 2011 at 8:48 am

Restaurants are so busy that night so my Husband and I always stay at home and HE cooks Valentine’s Day dinner.

nat February 2, 2011 at 9:08 am

Probably a quiet night and dinner at home with a heart shaped dessert and a small present for my husband.

Eridqua February 2, 2011 at 9:46 am

Every year I attend my husband’s choir’s Valentine’s performance. It’s fun and witty and has great music.

Amy February 2, 2011 at 9:51 am

I will have Kindness Party with my 5th grade students, then my daughters and I will make a special dinner for Dad. And hopefully someone will get me some chocolate!

Mary February 2, 2011 at 10:13 am

I bake cookies every week for a local Ronald McDonald House, and I am having fun planning out what cookies to bake up! I’m sure a few heart shaped cookies will appear, and cupcakes with lots of sprinkles and cute heart rings on them are always a hit. My wedding annversary is the 9th, so my husband and I usually combine the two together, so that leaves me free to enjoy sharing treats with the wonderful people at the RMH on V Day. Love it!

Jancd February 2, 2011 at 10:17 am

I plan on keeping my 3 grandchildren and letting my daughter and husband have a night out.

Sherry February 2, 2011 at 10:28 am

We’ll be making a Valentines menu at home for myself, hubby, daughter and her 2 daughters—lots of estrogen!

Veronica February 2, 2011 at 10:29 am

I’ll be staying home taking care of my daughter who will have just had a tonsil and adenoid surgery. I’ll be sure to eat something sweet, though!

Laura February 2, 2011 at 10:54 am
