Fisher Nuts Trail Mix Giveaway

by on June 22, 2012 · 129 comments

I wish I had a recipe to post, but this morning I have thrown away not one but two different cookie experiments. Time to take a break and do a giveaway. Can you guess what it is? If the giant photo didn’t clue you in, it’s Fisher Nuts! They’ve repackaged their trail mix in a “freshness seal” bag and want to let everybody know, including you.

Fisher sent our family five flavors to sample including Tropical, Cheddar Trail Mix, Summit Trail Mix, Sweet Nut Trail Mix and one I could use right now, Energy Trail Mix. So far I’ve only tasted the tropical flavored version. The banana chips were very crisp, the nuts had a clean flavor and the pineapple and mango were fine too (though in my opinion, they could have swapped out some of those banana chips for more pineapple and mango).  Of course now it looks like I won’t be needing the freshness seal, because it’s all gone.

Right now I’m trying to decide whether to bake the other flavors into granola type bars or cookies, or eat them straight. What would you do? For a chance at a free sample pack of 5 different trail mixes, leave a comment telling me how you use trail mix. This giveaway will end Monday June 25th at midnight and I will contact a commenter on Tuesday the 26th.

Fisher Tropical Trail Mix

Recipe to come (hopefully). If not, check Fisher’s new recipe section. I’m looking forward to perusing it this afternoon, though I have to admit I’m a little envious of how neat and clean it looks. I wish I could make my recipe collection look like that.

I have to say that straight would be my choice. However, I bet they would be great in an oatmeal cookie!

I would eat it right out of the bag or incorporate it in some granola :)

Teresa June 22, 2012 at 11:42 am

Depends on the flavor. Sometimes in salads, sometimes in cookies or granola, sometimes plain!

Sharon H June 22, 2012 at 11:44 am

I would eat straight from the bag, but I would have to wrestle it away from my husband first! :)

debby June 22, 2012 at 11:45 am

Straight from the bag. Keep them in the car for a quick snack when your busy life has your running around, so you won’t be tempted to go for fast food.

Caralyn @ glutenfreehappytummy June 22, 2012 at 11:45 am

Diane June 22, 2012 at 11:48 am

Straight from the bag or sometimes add a cup or so into oatmeal raisin cookie batter..
This stuff is great for when you travel to snack on!

Judy June 22, 2012 at 11:52 am

Besides just eating them for a snack, I put them on top of a crisp green salad.

Karen June 22, 2012 at 11:55 am

I tend to make my own trail mix and yes, I agree with everyone about eating it straight. I suppose making it into a granola would be pretty good, but perhaps a cookie would be mighty tasty too.

tiffany June 22, 2012 at 12:04 pm

I eat it straight but also like to mix the smaller pieces into my Greek yogurt.

Julie S June 22, 2012 at 12:04 pm

Mary June 22, 2012 at 12:40 pm

I love to send it with the kids for a snack during school. Sometimes they will have their lunch times really early or late in the school day, so a snack like trail mix helps them to kep their energy up. That trail mix looks so YUMMY!

I like to add trail mix to rice krispie treats! They make a delicious snack for the kids.

Nicole June 22, 2012 at 1:06 pm

Because I have so many food allergies, various versions of trail mix are a staple in our home. For me, these can sometimes mean the difference between having a “meal” and not. I also have them stashed in all of my bags. They are my go-to safety food.

Cheryl June 22, 2012 at 1:07 pm

It looks so good I would probably eat it all before even thinking of how to put it in a recipe!

Amber June 22, 2012 at 1:07 pm

An anytime snack when you want to feel good about what you are eating.

Stephanie Schiltz June 22, 2012 at 2:46 pm

First I’d eat some right out of bag, thenmake a big batch of granola. I love granola and so does my adult son (I’d share!). We recently shared a beach vacation with my son,His wife and children, and my daughter, and I made a huge batch of PB&J Granola and he ate it everyday for breakfast. I love it on yogurt! Great giveaway!

Susan Sunde June 22, 2012 at 3:03 pm

How I use Fisher’s Trail Mix: I eat it as is, usually in the afternoon when chores and errands are done and all is quiet. I eat it as a snack while watching Ellen or when I’m reading a really good book on my Barnes and Nobles Nook.

Supergoo June 22, 2012 at 3:04 pm

The only way I use trail mix is to eat it straight out of the bag. I love that stuff!!

Andrea D. June 22, 2012 at 3:21 pm

I think I would eat some straight but put The Tropical mix in cookies. Thanks for the chance to enter.

Beth L June 22, 2012 at 3:24 pm

I will use it straight out of the bag!!

suzanne June 22, 2012 at 3:27 pm

I just eat it straight from the bag

Dorothea June 22, 2012 at 3:48 pm

I’d use it as a topping for yogurt or throw it in a quick bread recipe – it adds taste, texture, and extra nutrition!

Jan Harris June 22, 2012 at 3:58 pm

I have a recipe for trail mix cookies that is very good. It’s easy to go overboard while eating it, so I don’t usually keep it around. Unless some cookies are on the menu, then I buy it in bulk so I have just enough.

Julie June 22, 2012 at 4:04 pm

straight out of the bag tansk

Carol June 22, 2012 at 4:18 pm

Straight out of the bag…or on top of ice cream!

Joyce Mitchell June 22, 2012 at 4:22 pm

We eat Trail Mix straight from the bag – it doesn’t last long enough in my house to be made into anything else. Thanks for the chance to win.

Melissa C. June 22, 2012 at 4:28 pm

Sounds lovely on some greek yogurt with fresh pineapple.
