This recipe is from Food and Wine. The ratio of fat/sugar/flour/chocolate is similar to that of the cupcakes I made a few days ago, but this version is much better. The cakes are a little bit softer and tighter crumbed. And best of all, this recipe was also stir and bake – no creaming required. [...]

Today I tried out a few new frosting recipes. Out of the three I sampled, this one was the best.
Fluffy Truffle Frosting
8 ounces good quality semi-sweet chocolate or chocolate chips
6-8 ounces of heavy cream
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
8 tablespoons butter, softened
1-3 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1-2 teaspoon vanilla
