Cream Cheese Brownies

white chocolate raspberry brownies

This recipe combines two of my favorite desserts, white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and fudge brownies. I made it this weekend using a brownie technique I learned in One Sweet Cookie and topping the brownies with white chocolate raspberry cheesecake batter. The interesting brownie technique is to make the brownie batter, spread it in the pan, [...]

JIF chocolate hazelnut spread

As if one new product discovery wasn’t enough, yesterday I found two more – JIF’s new chocolate hazelnut spread and McCormick’s new hazelnut extract. Talk about a banner week at the grocery store! I put both items in the cart without a second thought as to how I’d use them, but I knew I would. [...]

malted milk brownie

If the Oreo Stack Brownie wasn’t enough for you, here’s the latest version — a chocolate brownie filled with malted chocolate cheesecake and a topped with chocolate malt frosting. If you’re a chocoholic about to hit rock bottom, this will get you there quickly.  I think I prefer the plain cheesecake version over this …

swirled cream cheese brownies

I’m in the midst of a big magazine purge and my latest victim is a stack of Eating Wells from 2004. Turn, turn, read, turn, read, rip, read, rip. I’ve been doing this during dinner while we eat. cream cheese brownies

I toasted the nuts, threw in some almond extract for subtle flavor undertones (a little goes a long way), added chocolate chips and made the cream cheese layer a bit more tart by adding sour cream. The brownies were excellent. The cream cheese layer didn’t brown too much and the brownies had a fudgy, dense, texture. I l enjoyed these quite a bit even though they weren’t as tart and cheesy as my favorites. And because they are sweeter and don’t have such a huge proportion of cheesecake, they might be even more of a crowd pleaser than the others

Cream Cheese Brownies

Snow Day! Fuzz is staying home from school today and to celebrate, we’re making our favorite brownies. It was a long time coming, but we finally found the cream cheese version we like best. This recipe is adapted from the Tate’s Bake Shop cookbook, and to be honest I was a little hesitant about trying [...]

marble brownies

It’s been a great day. The housekeepers came, I finished some chores I’d been avoiding, and I got an email asking if I’d bake something for Teacher Appreciation Day. Well of course! I had an instant excuse to test out a new brownie – something I built using a couple of other brownie recipes. These [...]
