Wholesome Carrot Ginger Spice Cookies

Carrot Cookies

These are fat, dense, and have a lot of flavor thanks to all the spices and toasted pecans. I think they’d be excellent with dried cranberries or raisins, but I didn’t add them to this batch. The cookies don’t spread much, so make sure you flatten them slightly as directed. I forgot …

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe, which is loosely based on one from alt.cookies.yum.yum.yum was pretty good! It’s also on the wholesome side given the pumpkin, good fat, and whole grain flour. The texture is super-cakey to the point where the cookies are almost little round cakes. The chocolate chips make them extra good, …

As usual, I too became interested in carrot cookies and started searching for good carrot cookie recipes. Like carrot cake itself, some versions are buttery and rich and others are more health food oriented. I couldn’t settle [...]

by Anna on January 12, 2008 · 8 comments

But here’s Protein Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies got good ratings on allrecipes, but to be safe, I used the allrecipes.com scaling tool and only made 8 of them. The cookies aren’t terribly sweet and they’re also kind of dry, but the chocolate chips offset the dryness so the cookies are actually pretty decent overall….at [...]

5 Grain Rolled Cereal Daybreak Cookies

by Anna on April 17, 2007 · 1 comment

This recipe was a co-created by Val and Alysha. It’s kind of a stretch to call the cookies nutritious, but with 1 1/2 cups of five-grain cereal, dried cranberries and pecans, I suppose it could fall into the realm of wholesome. 5 Grain Rolled Cereal Daybreak Cookies 1/2 cup butter — melted 1 c packed [...]
