Instructions
In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together the butter, peanut butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in the vanilla and the egg.
Add flour mixture and milk and stir to make a soft dough. Stir in chopped peanuts (if using).
Divide dough into 24 or 36 ball. At this point you can press them down with the tines of a fork dipped in sugar or just press down slight without a fork so they'll bake evenly. Bake immediately or chill the dough balls until ready to bake.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 8 to 12 minutes or until cookies appear set. Let cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then carefully remove and let cool completely
Notes
I chilled my dough rounds for an hour because I think the cookies bake up a little thicker this way, but if you're in a hurry you could probably skip the chilling.
