White Chip Cherry Oatmeal Cookies are a recipe I made years ago for a little tea party held by our neighbor. Her niece had come to town, she invited Fuzz over and they became friends. This was sixteen years ago. Now they are grown and have jobs. I should probably consolidate this with one of the other 100,000 oatmeal cookie recipes here.

White Chip Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

114 grams butter, cool room temperature
110 grams golden brown sugar
96 grams granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
200 grams unbleached all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup old fashioned oats
1 cup white chocolate chips
½ cup macadamia nuts – lightly salted
⅔ cup dried cherries, chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Using a stand mixer paddle or a hand-held electric mixer, beat the butter until it is creamy and smooth. Beat in the brown sugar and granulated sugar and beat for 2 minutes. Add the egg and beat for about 30 seconds. Beat in the vanilla.

Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into the creamed mixture, followed by the oats, white chips, nuts and cherries. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased or parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until cookies appear set – these don’t get very brown. Remove from sheet and cool on a rack.

Makes about 2 dozen cookies

Janet, I'm glad you liked them. I liked them a lot too. The girls ate them, but didn't go crazy for them because they didn't love the dried cherries.

Glad the colors worked out well for the holidays.

I made these yesterday and they are wonderful. I did roll them in baker's sugar before baking just because I do that to most cookies, but other than that I followed the recipe. I don't usually like fruit and chocolate mixed together but this recipe just works! I even "splurged" on organic cherries and oats. Thanks for posting this one right before the 4th! The colors work great!

YUM. I've been having a mini-love-affair with dried cherries this summer--they're so rich. And anything with white chocolate has me hooked. Great recipe.

These look good enough to maybe persuade me to try something besides chocolate chip....
