Fall always seems like a season of beginnings -- the beginning of school, the beginning of holiday preparations, a renewed sense of connection to family and friends. And great food is a part of all of that! Once it gets a little cooler outside, I think more about baking (just can't get into it during the hot, humid days of August). Can't wait to try the new Pillsbury products.

Fall makes me feel like celebrating because my snowbird friends come back and there's a lot more to do, plus the cooler weather means I can bake and we can hike. Plus apple anything and pumpkin pie are my favorite things to bake (other than brownies, of course!).

Because its so hot where I live, Fall marks the "cooling off" season. I can turn on the oven more and I have a good excuse to bake my little heart out!!

I love the crisp, cold mornings when I walk out my door. The colors of the leaves and shrubs getting ready for our Idaho winters. Oh and wrapping up in warm coats and scarfs and hats gives me that snuggly feeling!!!

Fall makes me feel like celebrating for several reasons. First, I think of new beginnings. While to others, the approach of autumn makes them think of endings, cold weather and ever-longer evenings, I'm ready for the approach of school. New pencils, fresh paper, excited teachers, parents and students. My son and I have birthdays in mid-September so to me, that's another example of a beginning. Then there are the colors, so warm and inviting. I can't wait to wrap myself in that first fall jacket and put on a new pair of leather boots and then go out and kick through the leaves. My oven beckons for gingersnap cookies and fresh-baked bread, while my stove top bubbles with a hearty stew or sizzles with pumpkin pancake batter. My table wears a basket of gourds and a cookbook is open to fall recipes and Halloween treats. What's not to love about fall?!

Fall makes me feel like celebrating because I love the cooler (but not too cold) weather, the beautiful colors of the leaves, and the fact that I can start baking with pumpkin and apples all the time!

People just feel like coming together for football games and for the different Holidays. They spend a bit more time indoors and the atmosphere is warm and comforting. Families gather together to help those that are in need and to be there for each other. (at least this is how it is in my family).

I'm a professor, and fall weather (leaves changing, chilly temps, etc.) let me know that we're already halfway through the semester! 🙂 It's a nice way to mark a sense of accomplishment, like "we're halfway there!"
