It's baking season, but we're in the midst of a kitchen remodel so I haven't been able to try many new recipes. I've made all kinds of cooking goals for December, but I have to do my Fall baking 2022 vicariously.
Since I can't bake right now, I've gone through some old posts and picked out a few select favorites.
Cinnamon Apple Cider Bread
This an apple flavored that always makes the kitchen smell so good. Plus it has great reviews!

Spicy Dark Gingerbread
I honestly have not found a better gingerbread recipe than this one and need to bake a batch soon. It's the darkest, spiciest recipe I know of.

Pecan Caramel Cookie Bars
Fall baking means pecans around here, and since I don't have a lot of people to feed I'd like to make a batch of Pecan Caramel Bar Cookies. They freeze well, and if someone does happen to come over I can serve these a lot easier than pecan pie.

Old Fashioned Applesauce Cookies
This is my favorite recipe for apple cookies with oatmeal. If you like the idea of apple but aren't in a cookie mood, here are a few more good apple recipes.

Giant Cappuccino Cookies
These don't scream "Fall Baking", but I made these a few months ago and am craving them again. You can make them with regular flour or try a gluten-free blend such as Cup4Cup. My last batch was with Cup4Cup and the cookies were so good!

Fluffy Cheesecake
With everything being so expensive right now, this cheesecake recipe is handy because it only calls for 2 packs of cream cheese. This makes it slighly less expensive than the recipes which call for 5 packs. Plus it's just a good cheesecake. I'm looking forward to making it in a new oven.

Layered Chocolate Dessert
It doesn't look like a Fall Baking recipe at first glance, but I think Chocolate Layered Dessert would make an excellent base for Ghosts in the Graveyard. The original Ghosts in the Graveyard has pudding and whipped cream, but a Chocolate Layered Dessert version would be smaller and slightly less sweet with more going on "underground".

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Pie
I really wish I had a kitchen right now because I need to make this pie and take a better photo. This one is so good! The photo doesn't do it justice. I'm on the fence about the Pecan Sandies crust, but the pie itself is awesome.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake
I also want to make Sandy's Chocolate Cake again because I noticed in the comments someone asked me what the white filling was and I never answered the question. So now I want to make the cake, put a really thick layer of white filling in it.

Sue says
This is a really nice list. Thank you!
I wish I had applesauce. I’d go to the kitchen and make the applesauce cookies right now!
