I wish I had a recipe to post, but this morning I have thrown away not one but two different cookie experiments. Time to take a break and do a giveaway. Can you guess what it is? If the giant photo didn’t clue you in, it’s Fisher Nuts! They’ve repackaged their trail mix in a “freshness seal” bag and want to let everybody know, including you.
Fisher sent our family five flavors to sample including Tropical, Cheddar Trail Mix, Summit Trail Mix, Sweet Nut Trail Mix and one I could use right now, Energy Trail Mix. So far I’ve only tasted the tropical flavored version. The banana chips were very crisp, the nuts had a clean flavor and the pineapple and mango were fine too (though in my opinion, they could have swapped out some of those banana chips for more pineapple and mango). Of course now it looks like I won’t be needing the freshness seal, because it’s all gone.
Right now I’m trying to decide whether to bake the other flavors into granola type bars or cookies, or eat them straight. What would you do? For a chance at a free sample pack of 5 different trail mixes, leave a comment telling me how you use trail mix. This giveaway will end Monday June 25th at midnight and I will contact a commenter on Tuesday the 26th.
Recipe to come (hopefully). If not, check Fisher’s new recipe section. I’m looking forward to perusing it this afternoon, though I have to admit I’m a little envious of how neat and clean it looks. I wish I could make my recipe collection look like that.

Our family loves trail mix. I routinely pack some in my kids’ lunches.
I like to put the mix into cookie batter.
We just eat it. I don’t believe I have ever considered using it to bake something. I don’t know why, though…
Trail mix is my go-to snack. I always have some handy for when I get the munchies, and I love to pack it for my kids as a healthier alternative in their lunches.
I eat it plain. But I think it would probably be good with frozen yogurt.
I would use it as a cereal topper, and also eat it plain. YUM!
Mixed into vanilla or chocolate yogurt would be delicious!!! I love fruit and nuts with chocolate! You’d have the smooth sweet with the crunchy, sweet-salty mix. Yum!!
I keep trail mix in the car along with raisins and other nuts.
on the go between classes
I eat it plain. Boring, but true.

I eat it as-is
i mostly eat it straight up, but i love adding it to ready-made cookie dough too
As a snack with my iced tea in the afternoon.
I use it to make GORP for camping and hiking. I package it and add some M & M’s to it (have to add chocolate!). I love to sprinkle it on vanilla ice-cream and yogurt and have also sprinkled it in my cereal.
I think it would be great to continue the sweet and salty combination and mix it with some freshly popped popcorn.
I love to eat it straight from the package.

I like to add dried fruit/trail mix to muffins. Thank you for not posting your not-so-successful recipes. On other blogs I’ll see a recipe & think I’ll make it. Then at the end the blogger says the recipe wasn’t very good. Then why post it?
Thanks for sharing the Trail Mix.
I love to pack it as a healthy snack for my kids on long car trips.
Simply eating. Often on air travel.
We just eat it! Nothing crazy.
I eat it straight from the bag. But I’d like to use it in a bar cookie of somekind.
I love making overnight oatmeal with coconut pineapple yogurt and tropical dried fruit mix.
Trail mix in our house never lasts long enough to bake it into anything so I have to say, just eat it straight from the bag!
It’s my daughter’s favorite snack for gymnastics camp!

We always take trail mix on road trips. Also nice to carry on hikes.
I eat it out of the bag.
I would eat it to. I have started to see a lot more recipes using it though for muffins and cookies. The tropical mix would probably make a great addition to a banana muffin. The tropical mix is definitely my favorite kind!
I love to eat trail mix straight from the bag but I also have a super recipe for trail mix cookies… mmmm!
